NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 4, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215-1802, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Baxter Healthcare Corporation, for Hill-Rom specialty mattress rental services to provide specialized Veteran Care for the Erie VA Medical Center. This requirement entails a 5-year IDC contract ensuring Veteran care. The anticipated sole source IDC contract will include option periods.
This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the procedures in FAR 13.5 used in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
