This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for an Automated Liquid Handling System (LHS) for the Abernathy Fish Technology Center (AFTC). The AFTC requires this system to perform its mission of providing genetic information for scientific management of hatchery resources and restoration and recovery efforts. The LHS will be used for pipetting microliter volumes of liquids into hundreds of thousands of reactions annually.

• Automated Liquid Handling System (LHS) capable of using 96 channels for replicating DNA and mixing reactions for high-throughput genotyping.

• Must include a single-channel arm for reaction master mixes and cherry picking, capable of independent z-axis movement and aspiration/dispensing.

• Accurate dispensing down to 1µL.

• Programmable to current laboratory protocols.

• Multi-dispense programmable function.

• Pipetting deck must accommodate at least twelve microtiter plates.

• Channels must be accurate along x-axis and y-axis to within +0.25mm for pipetting into 384-well plates.

Statement of Need (SoN)

To procure an Automated Liquid Handling System (LHS) for the Abernathy Fish Technology Center (AFTC) to support its mission of providing genetic information for scientific management of hatchery resources and restoration/recovery efforts. The LHS is needed for high-throughput pipetting of microliter volumes of liquids.

• Item: Tecan Freedom EVO (Model: Freedom EVO 150 or approved equal)
• Primary Function: Automated liquid handling for genetic analysis.
• Key Capabilities:
  • Must use 96 channels simultaneously for DNA replication and high-throughput genotyping.
  • Must include a single-channel arm for master mix preparation and cherry picking, capable of independent z-axis movement.
  • Must accurately dispense volumes down to 1µL.
