Statement of Need

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) requires the purchase of a new heavy disk (11-foot wheel offset harrow disk) for moist soil management at wetland units within the Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuge Complex (McNary, Umatilla, and Cold Springs NWRs).

• The selected vendor must supply all necessary parts, fittings, pins, and connectors to ensure the implement is fully compatible and functional with the existing FWS-owned 190 hp John Deere 7730 agricultural tractor.

• The 11-foot wheel offset disk harrow is intended for deep plowing of soil through thick rooted vegetation (up to 10" of cattail root mats) and for mixing/aerating soil in seasonal moist soil units.
