The information gathered will help the Government understand industry capabilities for providing universal, reusable 5-gallon water bottles and associated delivery/exchange services. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or any form of solicitation.
Scope of Work
The Government is seeking information on commercially available bottled drinking water in standardized 5-gallon universal/standard reusable bottles suitable for office water-cooler dispensers. Key requirements include:
- Product Specifications: 5-gallon universal/standard reusable bottles designed for top-loading or bottom-loading coolers, with tight seals, molded grips, balanced shape, and made from BPA-free polycarbonate or PET plastic. Bottles must withstand frequent handling, weight (25-45 lbs), temperature changes, and pressure.
- Water Type: Spring, purified, or distilled water meeting federal, state, and local drinking water standards (NSF/ANSI, FDA-compliant materials).
- Sanitization: Vendors must have a documented bottle cleaning and sanitization process, including reuse/recycling program details and environmental impact statements.
- Sanitary Design: Smooth interior surfaces, narrow necks with tamper-evident caps, and anti-microbial coatings where bottles interface with coolers.
- Transportation: Shipments must comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations.
Eligibility & Set-Aside
This market research is specifically seeking responses from SMALL business vendors located within an estimated 50-mile radius of Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. The opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside (FAR 19.5).
