Scope of Work

The contractor shall fabricate and deliver plastic trays (Upper Tray: 55222BU, Bottom Tray: 55222BV) designed to be placed into carts for the drying and separation of wet work after Intaglio printing. Deliveries will be made to the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, TX.

Technical Requirements

Trays must conform to BEP drawings (Attachment A for Upper Tray, Attachment B for Bottom Tray). Key specifications include:

  • Quantities: 1,000 Upper (Middle) trays and 250 Bottom trays.
  • Material: Polyethylene (HDPE or LLDPE), with optional steel reinforcement.
  • Colors: Upper Tray (55222BU) shall be Blue (RGB 28-94-138); Bottom Tray (55222BV) shall be Green (RGB 74-96-58).
  • Weight Limits: Upper Tray not to exceed 18 lbs; Bottom Tray not to exceed 20 lbs.
  • Performance: Must support a minimum uniformly distributed static load of 320 lbs with less than 20 mm deflection after 5 days.
  • Quality: Surfaces must be free from sharp edges, burrs, and mold flash. Trays must be identified with manufacturer's name and date.
  • Drawings: Detailed engineering drawings specify dimensions, tolerances, and construction notes. CAD models will not be provided to vendors; bidders must use the provided drawings.

Contract Details

  • Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price.
  • Delivery: Initial delivery of three (3) upper and three (3) bottom trays for testing within 90 days after contract award. All additional trays to be delivered within 90 days after testing is completed. Staggered deliveries will be considered.
  • Warranty: One (1) year from full acceptance, covering parts, labor, and shipping. Defective trays must be replaced within two (2) weeks.
  • Inspection: BEP reserves the right to inspect. Final acceptance requires 90 days of issue-free utilization.
