The Bid Opening date remains June 22, 2026, at 12 PM EST. All other terms and conditions remain the same.

Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Testing & Inspections: Clarification sought on whether the VA or the general contractor will provide special inspections and testing laboratory services. The response indicates the General Contractor will provide these.
• Commissioning Agent Services (CxA): The RFI asks if CxA are included in bids or provided by the VA. The VA confirms CxA are provided by the VA, and the contractor must coordinate with them.
• Fire Alarm System: The existing fire alarm system is by Notifier.
• Patient Lift Structural Supports: Confirmed that structural support is part of a required submittal in Specification Section 11 73 00 (1.05).
• Trumpf Site Specific Drawings: Bidders are referred to attached Trumpf site specific drawings for loading information.
• Vision Control Glass: Kyler Industries SL20A with integral blind is acceptable for the remaining vision control glass.
• Unarmed Guard: The general contractor is NOT required to provide an unarmed guard 24/7 per specification 01 00 00 section 1.05C.
• Project Access (Phase 1): Access is through the existing construction anteroom; freight elevator is permitted for materials. Debris removal must follow ICRA requirements.
• Hybrid OR Scope: Bidders are referred to drawings and specifications for scope within Hybrid ORs.
• Surgical Integration: Video Integration for the Operating Rooms will be provided by a separate VA Contract and is NOT included in the construction contractor's scope of work. However, coordination with the video integrator is required.
• Loading/Unloading: For the louver adjacent to the Emergency Entrance, the 6" thick precast slabs have a dead load of 240 psf and live load of 250 psf. A proposed loading and unloading plan is required as a submittal. For curtainwall removal, there is no loading capacity issue.
• Patient Lifts: A fully functioning patient lift system requiring a traversing rail between two fixed primary rails is included. Rails are NOT required to be recessed for infection control.
• Nurse Call: Temporary procedure rooms 2-C231, 2-C232, and 2-C233 are NOT in scope. Pillow speakers are NOT in scope.
