Scope of Work
The anticipated project involves comprehensive mold mitigation and HVAC system restoration. Key components include:
- Mold Mitigation: Decontamination of mold-impacted drywall, removal and replacement of insulation, provision of air conditioning, washing/disinfecting/repainting interior walls in specified buildings (2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9), and replacement of attic insulation with a continuous vapor barrier in buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7.
- HVAC System Restoration: Demolition and disposal of existing chillers, installation of two new chillers with associated piping and controls, replacement of water pump seals, flushing and filling of the chilled water system, replacement of mold-affected chilled water piping insulation, and in-kind replacement of four air handling units (AHUs). This also includes mold remediation within AHUs, filter replacement, provision of terminal reheat, cleaning of coils and air intakes, repair/replacement of balance dampers and AHU controls, installation of stand-alone room dehumidifiers in critical care spaces, attic ventilation, and modification of AHU access/filter doors.
- Design: Preparation of a detailed design plan outlining work, anticipated outages, phasing, and transition spaces, adhering to standards such as ASHRAE 170 and UFC 3-440-05N.
