• Provide all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision for cleaning and refinishing exposed exterior wood surfaces.

• Work includes all exposed wood surfaces such as siding, soffits, trim, and turned log posts.

• The project involves wood surfaces on the building exterior, including those accessed from the roofs.

• The contractor is responsible for measuring the building and determining surface areas.

• Contract Type: Firm Fixed Priced Contract.

• Period of Performance: To be completed within 60 days from the time of award.

This document is a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research purposes, not a Request for Proposal (RFP), Quotation, or Bid. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is seeking capable small businesses (including 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, SDVOSB) for a project to refinish exterior wood surfaces of the Visitors Center at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in Soldotna, Alaska. The resulting contract is anticipated to be Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP).

• Clean and refinish all exposed exterior wood surfaces of the Visitors Center.

• Work includes wood siding, wood soffits, wood trim, and turned log posts.

• Specific quantities include:

  • 6 turned log posts (approx. 12" diameter x 10' tall) at the front entrance.
  • 4 turned log posts (approx. 10" diameter x 10' tall) at the rear patio.
  • Approx. 890 sq ft of horizontal soffit.
  • Approx. 1500 sq ft of vertical siding.

• Existing finishes are Sikkens Wood Finishes (Cetol 1 and Cetol 23 Plus).

• Cleaning method: Biodegradable non-chlorine bleach solution.

• Finishing: Three coats of penetrating waterborne oil (e.g., Nature's Edge Wood Finish or equal).

• Protection of materials (doors, windows, metal, etc.) is required.

• Final clean-up of the site.

• Contract Type: Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP).

• Period of Performance: 45 days from the date of award.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is seeking to identify capable, potential sources for an Indefinite Quantity contract to furnish labor, services, equipment, materials, and supplies for land surveys. The goal is to determine if the requirement can be set-aside for small businesses or other socioeconomic programs.

The required services include boundary, topographic, control, and water rights surveying. This may involve research, field work, mapping, preparation of legal descriptions and tract reports, applications for land division approval, calculation of volumes, recording of surveys and plats, boundary marking, and other incidental services. The work will support USFWS resource management programs across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Pacific island territories.
