Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To fully renovate the interior spaces of the Dan Beard Research Center (DBRC) at Everglades National Park, including employee restrooms, showers, breakroom, conference room, and archives processing room. The project also includes adding two new enclosed screen porches and upgrading existing facilities to meet current and future operational requirements and ADA standards.

• Restrooms: Renovations to all interior surfaces, openings, floors, ceilings, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Showers: Demolish existing showers and construct new ones with changing areas, casework for personal belongings, and new washer and dryers.

• Breakroom: Renovations to all interior surfaces, openings, floors, ceilings, kitchen countertops, cabinets and equipment, furnishings, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Conference Room: Expansion into the adjacent IT Room and renovations to interior surfaces, floors, ceilings, and upgrades to lighting and mechanical systems. Replacement of audio-video equipment and furniture will be completed by NPS IT staff.

• Archives Processing Room: Expansion into adjacent storage space, removal of a wooden raised floor and ramp, and renovations to interior surfaces, floors, ceilings, and upgrades to lighting and mechanical systems.

• Enclosed Screen Porches: Installation of prefabricated enclosed screened porches.

• The work shall be performed within 320 days of contract award.

• Location: Dan Beard Research Center (DBRC) at Everglades National Park, Homestead, Florida.

• The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, requiring adherence to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

• Work must comply with current governing policies regarding accessibility and sustainability, including water-sense and low-flow plumbing fixtures.

• Contractor shall provide a preliminary Phasing Plan to allow for continuity of NPS operations.

• Temporary restroom facilities, including ADA facilities, must be provided during work.

• Minimize construction noise during working hours.

• Protect adjacent work and visitor spaces from damage.

• Coordinate all electrical and IT work with NPS IT staff.

• Materials for construction, including borrow and aggregates, shall be contractor-furnished from outside the Park.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ
