This Sources Sought is for additional repairs needed to Beach Hall (Building 291). The requirement is based on a survey previously conducted that identified an unstable parapet wall as a potential life safety hazard and source of water intrusion. The survey was performed under a previously awarded contract. The additional repairs discovered directly affect the ability to perform the work under the aforementioned contract which is currently under a suspension of work. The scope of work includes deconstructing the existing parapet wall around the high roof. While deconstructing the existing parapet, care should be taken to save as much of the existing brick as possible for use in the reconstruction of the parapet wall.
The new parapet wall is to be a solid reinforced masonry wall with face brick on the exterior and reinforced CMU block on the interior side. Collar joint between the CMU and brick is to be grouted solid. Roof repairs including replacement of flashing plies where the roof meets the parapet wall will be required around the majority of the perimeter. Contractors must be able to complete the contract work within 180 days.
