• Existing Panel Reuse: Existing panel cans cannot be reused with new Notifier components. The existing system is to be removed entirely, except where otherwise stated in the solicitation.
• Sprinkler Valve Operation: The VA maintenance team will operate sprinkler valves for system testing; the installing contractor will not.

• Asbestos/Lead Paint: The VA can provide test results for asbestos and lead paint from 2011. Existing asbestos information can be provided post-award.
• Warranty and Services: Bids must include a complete inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair service for 5 years, not just the 1-year warranty. This includes costs for Normal and Overtime Emergency Call-Back Services for the first year and subsequent four years.
• Manufacturer Requirement: The fire alarm system manufacturer is not required to be Notifier; other manufacturers are acceptable.
