The primary purpose of this project is to provide a new electrical service upgrade for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs NIHCS Ft. Wayne Campus.
The subject location s electrical system is at capacity and not able to accommodate the future needs of the facility. This project will upgrade the existing electrical and supporting systems to ensure sufficient electrical power for current and future requirements.
The project scope will include removing existing electrical equipment and generators from Building 16. Building 16 will be demolished. The Building 1 basement will be expanded by 6,600 sq-ft to house the primary switchgear and the new generators. The new equipment upgrades will include three (3) new 600kW standby generators, associated automatic transfer switches (ATSs) and three (3) new unit substations.
This is not a solicitation. The Government anticipates issuing an invitation for bid on or about October 22, 2025.
One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements.
