Purpose & Scope

This project requires Architect/Engineer (A/E) professional services and construction services to prepare the site for the installation of new medical imaging equipment (specifically, the Philips Azurion 7 C20 system) in the Cath Lab of Building #1. The scope includes comprehensive renovation, demolition of existing elements (flooring, ceiling, sinks, casework, doors), and installation of new finishes and infrastructure. This encompasses new flooring, ceiling, casework, doors, sinks, lighting, a patient lift system, med gas, a lead-lined divider, and relocation of electrical work. Design services cover conceptual, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, telecommunications, data connections, and radiation shielding. The VA's medical equipment vendor is responsible for the removal of existing equipment and installation of the new Cath Lab equipment. All work must adhere to Federal, State, and Local Codes, VA standards, and strict noise and infection control measures, including an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM).

Contract Details

  • Contract Type: Firm-Fixed-Price
  • Period of Performance: 310 calendar days from receipt of Notice-to-Proceed (NTP) for both design and construction. Substantial Completion of Site Preparation Construction is expected within 365 calendar days after NTP, with equipment installation/testing/training completion within 380 calendar days.
  • Estimated Project Magnitude: Between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000.
  • NAICS Code: 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction), with a Small Business Size Standard of $45 Million.
