Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), under the Department of Commerce, has issued a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for the procurement of two (2) dual directional couplers. This acquisition supports Project 5.04, aiming to establish traceability for high-power radiofrequency (RF) waveform measurements. Quotations are due by February 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
Scope of Work
NIST requires two new dual directional couplers capable of handling up to 5 kW average power (higher preferred) in the main line, with a frequency range of 200 kHz to 220 MHz (wider preferred). The coupling factor should be approximately 60 dB to 74 dB, and connectors must be EIA 1-5/8 on the main line and Type N on the coupled ports. Deliverables are expected within 20 weeks After Receipt of Order (ARO) to NIST Boulder, CO. Only new items are acceptable; used, remanufactured, experimental, prototype, or "gray market" components will not be considered.
