Scope of Work
The requirement is for one new nominal 50-ton water-cooled chiller suitable for commercial HVAC applications. The scope includes:
- Supplying the new chiller.
- Removing and disposing of the existing 50-ton Carrier chiller (including refrigerant recovery per EPA regulations).
- Performing mechanical and electrical tie-ins.
- Integrating the new chiller with the existing building's programmable logic controller (PLC).
- Performing startup, testing, and commissioning.
- Providing staff training.
- Providing post-installation seasonal inspection services for two years.
- Providing a minimum one-year warranty on work, parts, and labor. Installation is anticipated to be completed within approximately 180 days of award.
Salient Characteristics
The chiller must be 50-ton nominal, water-cooled, designed for commercial HVAC, and 100% duty cycle. Electrical requirements are 460 VAC, 3 phase, 60 Hz, compatible with an existing 75-100 amp breaker. Refrigerant ASHRAE Standard 34, Classification A1 is preferred. Noise levels must be 70dB or less inside the mechanical room. The unit must comply with FEMP and ASHRAE Standard 90.1 for energy efficiency and fit within existing space dimensions (9-ft L x 5-ft W x 6-ft 6-in H) on a 5-ft L x 4-ft W x 3-in H concrete pad.
