• Safety Code & Length: A 36-inch aisle and 1-inch clearance between moving carriages are required, resulting in a total system length of 19'2" (instead of 19'). Closed back panels are not required for single-entry units, but are required between shelves to prevent co-mingling of items and to designate aircraft equipment specific to a tail number.
• Rails: The requirement is for a modular floor with embedded "B" rails, not "L" rails, as initially communicated.

Confirms the acceptable system length and configuration, and clarifies the specific type of rails required. Bidders should ensure their proposals account for the 19'2" length and the specified rail type.

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) outlines the requirements for furnishing and installing a mechanical assist high-density mobile storage shelving system for the 55th Rescue Generation Squadron.

• The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for the delivery, assembly, and installation of the mobile storage shelving system.

• This includes grouting the rails to the floor. Finish flooring material will be provided by the owner.

• Dimensions: Overall Width: 19 feet, Overall Height: 108 inches, Overall Depth: 18 feet.

• Static Runs: Two (2) runs, 48 inches wide each (24 inches back-to-back), 72 inches W x 24 inches L x 106 inches H.

• Mechanical Assist Mobile Carriages: Two (2) carriages, 48 inches wide each (24 inches back-to-back), 72 inches W x 24 inches L x 104 inches H.

• Track Sections: Minimum 6-foot lengths, minimum 5/8 inch width.

• Drive Wheels: Minimum 5-inch wide dual flange outside diameter, with "L" load rails.

• Capacity: Shelf Capacity: Minimum 300 lbs per shelf; Wheel Capacity: Minimum 3200 lbs per carriage; Rail Load Capacity: 1000 lbs per lineal foot of carriage.

• Materials and Construction: Steel construction with High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) end panels for carriages & shelving. Minimum ½ inch thick 5-ply underlayment grade plywood for floor/ramp (finish flooring by owner). Solid steel rod or tube for shafts (standard "B" bar rail not acceptable). Full steel back panels on single-sided shelving ranges. Rotating load-bearing members with ball or roller bearings; shafts with pillow block or flanged self-aligning bearings. Recessed shelving uprights (minimum ¼ inch (19mm)). Line shaft driven carriages with wheels on one side. Four (4) post steel shelving configuration with two (2) static runs and two (2) mobile carriages. Each carriage must have a locking mechanism.

• Finish: Powder-coated paint, black.

• Other Requirements: Modular floors are not acceptable.

• A fully assembled and installed mobile storage shelving system meeting all specified requirements.

• The system must be fully functional and operational upon completion.

• All moving parts must operate smoothly and quietly.
