- Material Requirements: Specific material for "Mast, Item 1" (QQ-N-286, Form 2, Annealed and Age Hardened to achieve minimum yield strength 85,000 PSI).
- Testing & Certifications: Extensive testing is required, including Non-Destructive Tests (for weld repair/production weld), Hydrostatic Pressure Tests (for major repairs), Ultrasonic Inspection (for QQ-N-286 material >= 4 inches diameter), Dye Penetrant Inspection (for Mast, Item 1), and Annealing/Age Hardening. Specific pressure and time tolerances apply.
- Manufacturing Processes: Welding, brazing, and allied processes must comply with S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278, 0900-LP-001-7000, or S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248. Repair welding is prohibited on QQ-N-286 material. Internal threads must be cut, and specific thread inspection standards (FED-STD-H28 series or ASME B1 series) apply. Thread lubricants containing molybdenum disulfide are forbidden; A-A-59004 anti-galling compound must be used.
- Configuration Control: Contractors must maintain total equipment baseline configuration and submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for Class I or II changes. Waivers and deviations require Contracting Officer approval.
- Quality Assurance: A quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (amplified herein) and ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 is required. MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662 is an acceptable alternative. Government Quality Assurance (DCMA QAR) at the source is mandated.
