Scope of Work
The contractor will perform Engineer Inspections and Evaluations of 34 BIA-owned landfills located across the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Key tasks include:
- Evaluating landfill covers, including mandatory 30-year monitoring requirements.
- Documenting sites with photographs, GPS coordinates, and cell numbers.
- Testing existing cover depth to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collecting data for cost estimates to return sites to compliance (repair/replacement of covers, drainage/erosion control, debris removal).
- Categorizing landfills by closure type (open, pre-1997, post-1997, or site-specific flexibility guidance).
