Scope of Work

The selected sculptor will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of three bronze sculptures depicting a caribou family (bull, cow, and yearling). The sculptures must:

• Capture the essence of Alaska's eastern interior caribou herds in a still-life arrangement.
• Be life-like, anatomically correct for the region, and approximately 1 1/8 to 1 1/2 times actual size.
• Be patinated for natural color contrast, luster, and sheen.
• Be designed for secure fastening to concrete pads/piers, with the sculptor providing design and construction drawings for brackets.
• The sculptor will create sketches and maquettes for USFWS review and approval, and a site visit to the sculptor's studio will be required for inspection of clay sculptures before casting.
• The sculptor is also responsible for packaging, crating, coordinating installation logistics, and performing the final installation at the Visitor Center, addressing Alaska's climate challenges.
