Quick Summary
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), under the Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for the design, fabrication, and installation of an exterior bronze sculpture exhibit featuring a life-like caribou family. These sculptures will be installed at the Tok Main Street Interagency Visitor Center in Tok, Alaska. This opportunity is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Proposals are due by Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
Scope of Work
The selected sculptor will design, fabricate, and install three bronze sculptures depicting a caribou family (bull, cow, and yearling). The sculptures must be life-like, anatomically correct for Alaska's eastern interior caribou herds, and approximately 1 1/8 to 1 1/2 times actual size, patinated for natural color. The sculptor is responsible for creating sketches and maquettes for USFWS approval, providing design and construction drawings for mounting brackets (for secure fastening to concrete pads provided by the refuge), and coordinating/performing the installation, including labor, touch-up work, and bronze finishing. The Government will provide a hoist/lift, ladders, basic tools, and site installation materials/equipment.
