Key Requirements & Quality Assurance
- Source Approval: Only government-approved sources or companies with prior NAVAIR engineering source approval are eligible. New manufacturers must submit a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) by the closing date, including configuration drawings, process sheets, and comparative analysis. Authorized distributors must provide a letter from the source.
- First Article Testing (FAT): A First Article Test (FAT) is mandatory for one uncoated unit. The contractor must provide facilities and personnel for testing, and submit a FAT report within 15 days of testing. Government approval/disapproval will be provided within 45 days.
