Key Requirements

Source Approval: Offerors must be government-approved sources. Distributors of approved sources must submit an authorized distributor letter. Companies not previously approved must submit a comprehensive SAR, including configuration drawings, process/operation sheets, past production documentation, comparative analysis, and inspection method sheets, by the solicitation closing date.
Quality Assurance: Requires 100% inspection for critical and major characteristics, plating, hardness, and non-destructive testing (NDT). An AQL of 1.5 applies to Class 3 threads and dimensions with a tolerance range of .010 or less. Companies performing NDT must be NADCAP accredited or ISO 17025 compliant.
First Article Testing (FAT): A First Article Test is mandatory, involving one uncoated unit for Government evaluation. A detailed FAT Report is due within 15 calendar days of testing. A waiver for FAT may be granted for offerors with recent (within 3 years) identical production at the same facility, provided they submit a certification and two price options (with/without FAT).
