This BAA seeks new and novel ideas for research and development in technologies to support the complete spectrum of Armaments Center needs, from weapons and munitions systems to soldier lethality. It is a continuously open announcement, valid from March 2026 through March 4, 2031.
Scope of Work
Proposals are sought for scientific study and experimentation aimed at advancing the state of the art or increasing knowledge within the Armaments Center's technical community. Key technology areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Advanced Materials: For hypersonic applications, high thermal stress, etc.
- Electronics / Sensors: Anti-tamper systems, advanced distributed sensors.
- Manufacturing Technology: Additive manufacturing, Cr+6 alternatives.
- Power and Energy: Novel power harvesting, storage, and management systems.
- Energetics Innovation: New synthesis methods, high energy density materials.
- Revolutionary Armament Design Concepts: Morphing airframes, novel propulsion.
- Fuze Technology: Miniaturized MEMS, advanced proximity sensors.
- Autonomy; Guidance, Navigation and Control: Collaborative control, GPS-denied navigation.
- Disruptive Lethality Concepts: Next-generation warheads, counter-UAS.
- Advanced Fire Control: Optics, algorithms, PNT advancements.
- Digital Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Assurance, Networked Lethality, and Uncrewed Systems Technologies.
Contract & Timeline
- Type: Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) under FAR 6.102(d)(2) for competitive selection.
- Duration: Continuously open from March 5, 2026, to March 4, 2031.
