Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work (SOW) supports the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation's forests and grasslands by addressing systemic maintenance and critical infrastructure issues affecting the USFS tower inventory. The goal is to ensure these structures continue to support mission-critical operations.

The contractor will provide technical and logistical services, independently and in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to perform the following tasks on a 150' Rohn 55 guyed lattice-based communication tower:

• Guy system tensioning

• Installation of guy wire bracket assemblies

• Tower lightning protection installation

• Corrosion abatement

• Minor repairs

• Installation of new security wire on the perimeter fence (approx. 40' x 40')

• Lowering two single dipole antennas by 7 ft. and re-terminating transmission lines.

• Install lightning protection in accordance with supplied design.

• Ensure grounding connections resistance meets NFPA 780 preferred standard (10 ohms, 25 ohms max).

• The work will be performed at the USFS field site located at Bean Ridge, Shawnee National Forest, Illinois (Latitude 37°14'54.91"N, Longitude 89°22'42.72"W).

• All work must be fully completed within 30 days of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

• Planning and preparation activities may occur at the contractor's home office or USFS field offices.
