Quick Summary
The General Services Administration (GSA), Supply Chain Management Contracting Division, is issuing a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry feedback on Brand Name National Stock Numbers (NSNs). The purpose is to determine if the requirements currently met by specific brand-name manufacturers can also be fulfilled by alternative products, thereby promoting competition. This is a continuous RFI, with the notice active until February 12, 2027.
Purpose & Scope
GSA is seeking to verify whether the need described by existing Item Purchase Descriptions (IPDs) for Brand Name NSNs can only be met by the currently cited manufacturers, or if other manufacturers' products can meet the requirement. This initiative aims to identify suitable substitute items to ensure continued supply and maximize competition for these items, which are critical for Department of War (DoW) and other Federal Agency customers. The overall portfolio of Brand Name NSNs has an estimated value of over $595 million over 10 years.
Action for Industry
Interested parties are requested to provide feedback by completing the attached Excel template, specifically the highlighted columns designated for industry feedback. This includes proposing substitute manufacturer names and part numbers for any NSN(s) you wish to comment on. Supporting documentation for all proposed substitutes must be included. All literature must clearly indicate the associated NSN on every page.

Key Documents
