Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide all musical accompaniment, musical direction, cantor support, and cantillation for Catholic programs at Hill Air Force Base Chapel.

• Provide musical accompaniment and direction for weekly services, weekly rehearsals, special services (e.g., Holy Days, penance services, memorial services, confirmation celebrations), and special liturgical seasons (e.g., Christmas, Holy Week, Easter).

• Perform prelude and postlude music for weekend masses.

• Coordinate music selections with the Catholic Priest and attend monthly Parish Council meetings.

• Select and coordinate music for special services and rehearsals.

• Conduct and coordinate special seasonal musical celebrations.

• Assist in researching and organizing chapel music selections.

• Secure suitable replacements for services when necessary, notifying the Catholic Priest and providing a substitute of equal or greater capability.

• Provide two weeks' notice for extended absences (more than one weekend) and arrange for a qualified substitute.

• Adhere to government standards and regulations, including those related to chapel security, property, and interactions with government personnel.

• Plan the year's music and calendar, coordinating with the Catholic Priest.

• Procure necessary music and accompaniment books, ensuring proper cataloging and filing.

• Safeguard government-provided musical instruments and report maintenance needs.

• Report on time and at the scheduled location for all services and rehearsals.

• Perform and provide music direction for all scheduled events.

• Immediately notify the Wing Chaplain or Catholic Priest of any substitutions.

• Services to be performed at the Main Chapel (Bldg. 475) or Chapel Annex (Bldg. 445) at Hill Air Force Base.

• Other locations require approval from the Wing Chaplain and/or Catholic Chaplain.

• Minimum of three years' experience in the field, with specific knowledge of Catholic music selection and Mass requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or five years of experience can substitute.

• Proficiency in piano, digital organ, or keyboard accompaniment, with at least two years of church accompanist work or equivalent.

• Ability to read sheet music and sing/direct Catholic Parish music.

• Must provide three references from former employers (unless experience was at Hill AFB Chapel).

• Personnel must read, understand, speak, and write English well.

• Background check required for all individuals working with youth.

• Contractor personnel must comply with Government/Chapel regulations.

• Contractor is responsible for payment to substitute contractors.

• Contractor must personally perform services or use an approved substitute.

• Adherence to safety requirements and development of a safety plan.

• Professional conduct, neat appearance, and healthy interpersonal relationships are required.

• Compliance with Hill AFB security requirements for base access.
