The USPFO for California intends to award a single firm-fixed-price contract for non-personal construction services, to include all plant, labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, appliances, permits, and supervision necessary for the construction of a 24,564 SQFT National Guard Vehicle Maintenance Shop (VMS) at the Bakersfield Army National Guard Readiness Center (Gateway Ave.), Kern County, California. Integral characteristics/items of the VMS include Backup/Emergency Generator, Organizational Vehicle Parking (Paved), Controlled Waste Facility, Flammable Materials Facility, and Electric Power, Photovoltaic. This project will include comprehensive interior design. This facility will be designed to meet Industry Standards as well as all local, State, and Federal building codes and as per Public Law 90-480. Construction will include all utility services, information systems, fire detection and alarm systems, cranes, roads, walks, curbs, gutters, storm drainage, parking areas for approximately 20 privately owned vehicles and site improvements.

Update - 30 May 2025
Amendment 001 was issued in order to formally incorporate "Type B 100% Bid Final Design Report Volume 1" which includes the geotechnical survey at "Appendix B". Note that this document has been redacted to remove brand names and the Government's cost estimate. Additionally, Round 2 of RFIs has been posted.
Update - 6 June 2025
Amendment 002 was issued and accomplishes the following:
- Extends the bid submission deadline until 12:00pm on 26 June 2025.
- Incorporates the Architect-Engineer's "Addendum 01" to the plans and specs.
- Incorporates the Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan (see pre-bid RFI #18).
- Incorporates RFIs Round 3.
- Removes and replaces the Wage Determination (WD) version 7 with version 8.
