Quick Summary
The National Park Service (NPS), under the Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for the demolition and removal of two buildings, a gazebo, and a shed at Carnestown Corner in Ochopee, Florida. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The project includes hazardous material abatement and site restoration. Offers are due by February 12, 2026.
Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Demolishing and removing the Sheriff Office Building (approx. 1200 SF), Chamber of Commerce Building (approx. 900 SF), one gazebo (approx. 400 SF), and one 14'x8' shed/outbuilding.
- Removing all associated foundations, slabs, ramps, stairs, sidewalks, decks, walkways, and septic system components.
- Conducting hazardous material surveys, testing, abatement, removal, and disposal, as asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are believed to be present in the Sheriff Office building. Lead-based paint is also a possibility.
- Capturing and properly disposing of refrigerants.
- Disconnecting and removing water lines.
- Removing shrubbery and trees within ten feet of each structure.
- Disposing of all demolition materials in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, with a focus on reuse, salvage, or recycling (Florida's goal is 70% C&D debris diversion).
- Restoring demolition footprints to a stable, level surface matching surrounding grades, suitable for natural revegetation.
- Ensuring the radio tower, tower building, and tower generator remain accessible and fully operational.
