Engineering source approval by the design control activity is required to maintain part quality. Existing qualified sources retain data rights. Alternate sources must qualify according to the design control activity's procedures, approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity.

Specifically, for the FLIGHT CONTROL DATA RECORDER ASSEMBLY (NSN: 6625-01-114-6771, P/N: 16C0200-809), offerors must meet detailed Manufacturing Qualification Requirements. This includes prequalification notification, certification of facilities/capabilities, verification of a complete data package (LM AERO drawing 16C0200), manufacturing/process verification, and submission of a qualification test plan/procedure and report. A pre-contract award qualification article is required for evaluation. The estimated cost for testing and evaluation is $20,000, with an estimated 360 days for the qualification effort.
