Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Foundation Digital Twin Auto Feature Extraction (FDT AFE). This RFI seeks industry input on available out-of-the-box Automated Feature Extraction (AFE) capabilities, particularly those leveraging AI/ML, to support NGA's mission data feature collection. The goal is to modernize GEOINT production by automating the identification, extraction, and attribution of geospatial features from various data sources. Responses are due by 5:00 PM ET on April 6, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
NGA has a mission-critical need to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of feature collection. This RFI is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). NGA is interested in solutions that can automatically detect and extract geospatial features from imagery and raster maps, with capabilities for monoscopic and/or stereoscopic extraction, individual and batch processing, and automatic attribution according to NGA domain standards. The AFE solution should integrate with NGA systems, provide confidence metrics, and utilize standardized data formats (e.g., GeoDatabase, Shapefile, TDS 7.1).
Key objectives include deploying a high-performing AFE capability as a service, ensuring high-quality data with accuracy targets (80% for topographic/maritime, 90% objective 99% goal for aeronautical features), enabling seamless utilization via open APIs, and meeting stringent performance and security standards (DNI ICD 503, DD Form 254).
