Scope of Work

The contractor will provide annual 100% testing and certification of Medical Gas systems (Oxygen, Medical Air, Vacuum, Waste Anesthesia, Nitrous Oxide) for all outlets in specified buildings (Main Building, Bldg 8 ACC, Dental Clinic Building 29, and Community Living Center Building 16). Services also include annual testing of Medical Center Master Alarm Panels at three locations. All work must comply with NFPA 99C standards and Engineering Policy Memorandum No. FS/138-1027. Key requirements include:

  • Contractor personnel must be NFPA 99C Medical Gas Certifier trained and provide current certificates.
  • Provide an updated Medical Gas Campus Overview book within 30 days of the initial site visit.
  • Perform specific tests including flow rate (Pass/Fail documentation is adequate), particulate matter, purity, static pressure, and leak detection.
  • Ensure Medical Air compressors conform to grade "N" standards.
  • Electronic reports, including a discrepancy list, are required within 10 working days.
  • VA TMS training course (VA20939) must be completed annually by personnel.
  • The facility has 10 nonstationary booms in the OR surgical area, which are for lights only and do not contain medical gases.
  • A miscellaneous/emergency CLIN will be added for minor repairs during inspection.
