Scope of Work
The contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, materials, supervision, and transportation for secure, on-site destruction services at DFAS Indianapolis. Destruction must render materials unusable and data unrecoverable, adhering to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 standards.
- Hard Drives: Physical destruction required. HDDs need degaussing followed by platter damage. SSDs must be shredded to a majority particle size of 2 mm or smaller, with no fragment exceeding 10 mm.
- Magnetic Tapes: Destruction by shredding (majority particle size 2 mm or smaller, no fragment exceeding 10 mm) or degaussing followed by shredding. Tapes are primarily LTO, with some older types.
- On-site Presence: All destruction must occur on-site in the presence of a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or designated Government personnel.
