• All work must be performed under the direct supervision of an ISA certified arborist.

• Trees to be cut flush with the ground, no higher than 4-6 inches above grade, unless otherwise approved.

Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Inventory Finality: The inventory of trees to be removed is considered final.

• Debris Removal: All material stemming from tree removals (logs, brush, chips, debris) must be hauled out of the park by the contractor. Material up to 10" DBH can be cut to firewood size and left behind in campgrounds.
• Equipment: Rubber tracks are acceptable. Drop-offs from asphalt should be minimized. Heavy equipment is allowed at all sites, but minimal ground disturbance is preferred, and equipment should remain on pavement where practical.
• Staging Areas: Areas near Mineral Ballfield and the old logdeck near Manzanita Lake can be used as staging areas, but all material must be removed by the end of the project.
• Permits: No specific permits are required for the contractor to work inside Lassen National Park; the contractor is responsible for obtaining their own permits for mobilization.
• Weight Limits: While there are no published axle weight limits, park roads have size restrictions (max width 102 inches, max length 45 feet). Standard highway-legal trucks (80,000 lb GVW) are generally not appropriate unless they meet size limits and can navigate the road. However, for this solicitation, trucks will be exempt from these restrictions.
