Scope of Work
The required services include a comprehensive repair and inspection of the heated salt bath furnace. Key tasks involve:
- Pumping out molten salts from the furnace.
- Replacing old electrodes, auxiliary heaters, fuses (specific types), thermocouples (Type K and N), and associated wiring with specified components.
- Conducting a thorough tank inspection, encompassing external visual checks for corrosion, pitting, bulging, leaks, and coating degradation, as well as internal inspection for cracks and deterioration.
- Inspecting the foundation and support structure for settlement, cracks, erosion, and misalignment.
- Performing corrosion and thickness measurements using ultrasonic thickness, magnetic particle testing, and magnetic flux leakage examination.
- Executing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to American Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) certified Level II standards.
- Providing all NDT results and necessary repair documentation as per Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) A001 to the Government's technical point of contact, Matt Simon. The Government will supply new salts and handle the disposal of solidified salts.
