• Fabrication of formwork and installation of new rebar.
• Pouring a new 6-inch concrete slab with a minimum strength of 4,000 psi, including the imbedding of traction bars.
• The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary materials, equipment, and labor.
• Coordination with refuge staff is required to schedule work during optimal river conditions (low river depth).

Key Requirements & Special Conditions

Contractors must:

• Inform refuge staff at least one week in advance of starting work for public notification and ramp closure.
• Complete the work as soon as feasible to mitigate potential river level fluctuations.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned pre and post-entry to prevent the spread of invasive species.
• Minimize rutting and disturbances to refuge facilities and infrastructure.
• Secure all equipment and materials left on-site; a gated area will be provided for this purpose.
• Acknowledge that Mississippi River levels may cause construction delays, potentially requiring an extension to the period of performance.
