Purpose & Overview
This solicitation aims to replace an aging, inefficient, and leaking heat exchanger bundle with a modern system to ensure reliable heating performance and improve energy efficiency at the Phoenix VA Medical Center.
Scope of Work
The project involves:
- Shutting down and draining the existing system.
- Removing and disposing of the old Armstrong Tube and Shell heat exchanger (Model WSX-67-2) and Flo-rite Temp water heater (Model 665DW), along with associated piping and insulation.
- Supplying and installing a new Spirax Sarco plate and frame heat exchanger (model AEH-6E-PT-DHW-PN) or an equivalent unit that meets existing specifications.
- Replacing piping and fittings within a 5-foot radius of the old unit.
- Insulating new piping.
- Performing system testing and commissioning, including startup assistance and leak testing.
- Installing new isolation valves, drain lines, and various piping connections (steam, condensate, cold water, mixed water, recirculation, electrical, BAS communication wiring).
