Scope of Work

The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, and materials for the removal of existing units and installation of new ones in Bldg. 202. Key requirements include:

• Removal and installation of thirteen (13) condenser units and thirteen (13) evaporator units.
• New condenser units must be exterior grade and roof-mounted on Bldg. 202, with the contractor providing mounting racks and integrating with the existing roofing waterproofing system.
• All new evaporators must be EEV-driven (electronic expansion valve) without control wiring between indoor and outdoor units.
• Installation of heat trace at all drain lines and new insulated copper refrigerant line sets.
• Replacement of insulation and aluminum jacketing on existing drain lines.
• Application of 4-inch spray-applied closed cell foam insulation on specified roof areas and sealing of all cooler/freezer roof and wall penetrations.
• Recovery and disposal of existing refrigerant in accordance with EPA regulations, and disposal of all removed equipment.
• Compliance with International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code (NEC), ASHRAE, VA Specifications/Standards, and local facility requirements.
• Submission of a safety plan, with on-site competent personnel requiring OSHA 30-hour certification and other workers OSHA 10-hour certification.
• All new units must meet or exceed the performance of the existing installed equipment.
