Scope of Work

Services must comply with VHA Directive 1810, VHA Boiler and Associated Plant Safety Device Testing Manual (8th Edition, 2024), NBIC, NFPA 85, and manufacturer recommendations. Key tasks include Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, draining and cooling boilers, inspecting watersides and firesides, cleaning tubes, inspecting burner assemblies and controls, replacing gauge glass and gaskets, and inspecting safety devices and interlocks. Annual NDT ultrasonic thickness testing of the deaerator tank and replacement of all boiler plant gauges are also required. Work will be performed during summer months, servicing one boiler per month, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
