Scope of Work
The contractor will provide musical leadership for the Sacred Liturgy during the 1100 Catholic Mass and other designated services. This includes hymns, organ playing, vocal singing, and appropriate instrumentation. Key responsibilities involve:
- Leading 52 Regular Sunday Masses and 52 Weekly Rehearsals annually.
- Supporting 10 Extra Services (Holy Days) and 10 Extra Rehearsals annually.
- Selecting and preparing liturgically appropriate music.
- Recruiting, organizing, and leading choir members, instrumentalists, and cantors.
- Coordinating with the Catholic Priest/Chaplain.
- Operating sound systems and adhering to copyright regulations.
- Experience playing the 1934 M.P. Möller Opus 6299 pipe organ is preferred.
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music (or equivalent experience in liturgical music), be proficient in reading, teaching, and performing sacred music, and have the ability to sight-read and accompany on organ/keyboard. Familiarity with military protocol and communication with a diverse congregation is also required. Security requirements include VIRTUS training and a National Agency Check Investigation (NACI).
Evaluation & Submission
Award will be based on Price, Technical Capability, and Audition/Interview, with Technical Capability and Audition/Interview being more important than Price. Technical proposals will be rated as "Acceptable" or "Unacceptable." An audition demonstrating proficiency in piano/keyboard, vocal singing, and sight-reading is mandatory, along with a minimum of one letter of recommendation.
