Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mississippi Valley Division - Rock Island District, is conducting a Sources Sought for the Lock and Dam 21 Bolted Tainter Gate Supply project in Quincy, Illinois. This notice aims to gather information on qualified sources for the fabrication and delivery of new bolted Tainter gates to assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including potential set-asides. Responses are due March 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST.
Scope of Work
This project involves the off-site fabrication and delivery of four (4) bolted Tainter gates for Lock and Dam 21. Each gate measures approximately 20 feet high by 64 feet long and consists of cold-rolled shapes and welded assemblies. Welded assemblies must comply with AWS D1.1 standards and are designed without fracture-critical members. The new design utilizes a bolted-erection method to facilitate truck shipping of subassemblies for final assembly at an offsite location, allowing for fabrication by facilities with limited crane capacity. Final delivery to the project site is required via barge. On-site installation is not included in this scope.
