Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice for Maintenance Dredging of NY & NJ Channels, Seguine/Ward/Outerbridge Reaches, Federal Navigation Project. This effort aims to identify qualified contractors for a project with an estimated magnitude between $5,000,000 and $15,000,000. Responses to the market research survey are due by March 5, 2026.
Scope of Work
The proposed work involves maintenance dredging approximately 330,000 cubic yards (CY) of material from critical shoal areas in the New York and New Jersey Channels, Seguine/Ward/Outerbridge Reaches, to a depth of -35 feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. The dredged material will be placed at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS), located approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
Work is anticipated to be performed using a mechanical clamshell dredge with an environmental bucket, along with multiple ocean-going, bottom-dumping barges, tugboats, and survey vessels.
