To ensure the continued maintenance of water treatment systems at Army Research Laboratory (ARL) facilities on Spesutie Island, APG, MD, and Graces Quarters, Middle River, ARL, MD. The goal is to filter undesirable contaminants to maintain potable water for personal and laboratory use, and to prevent damage to specialized experimental equipment.

• Perform quarterly site visits to all existing water treatment systems (16 systems total).

• Conduct maintenance and testing on each system at the end of each quarter.

• Ensure maintenance meets U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) standards.

• Tasks include: chemical replenishment, filter changes, resin cleaning, rebedding filters, salt replenishment for water conditioners, mixing chlorine solution, and blowing down retention tanks.

• Test 30 or 55-gallon contact/retention tanks to ensure functionality.

• Record and report all quarterly site visit results, including service performed, test results, and recommendations for repair or replacement to the COR within five business days.

• Maintenance must meet EPA SDWA standards.

• Systems are expected to handle approximately twenty (20) to thirty (30) gallons per day of routine usage.

• The PWS covers maintenance for a Base Year and four Option Years.

• Hours of Operation: Work is generally between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Coordination with the COR is required for scheduling. Emergency work outside these hours may be necessary.

• Service Regulations: All disposals, installations, repairs, and replacements must comply with Federal, State, and local requirements.

• If parts are below OEM standards, the COR must be notified the same day. Repairs/replacements must be completed within one business day of receiving Government-provided parts.
