Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide four (4) aircraft tire carriers designed to be airworthy on KC-46 and KC-135 aircraft. Each carrier must not exceed the dimensions of a 463L pallet (88"x108" and no higher than 60") and must store six (6) main tires and two (2) nose tires for both aircraft types, with an approximate stored weight of 1400 lbs. Key features include:
- An opening side that drops to the floor, acting as a ramp for tire loading/unloading.
- Secure, lockable latches for safety during transport.
- A 1-foot interior indenture to prevent tire movement.
- Sturdy parts capable of handling weight and movement to/from deployed locations.
- High-quality, black, glossy paint and primer resistant to adverse weather and salt water damage. Detailed dimensions and images are provided in Attachment 1 - Statement of Need.
