Quick Summary

The Department of the Air Force is soliciting proposals for Aircraft Tire Carriers for McConnell AFB. This Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Program Set-Aside opportunity requires the provision of four specialized carriers for KC-46 and KC-135 main and nose tires. Proposals are due April 24, 2026, at 11:30 AM CT.

Scope of Work

The 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) requires four aircraft tire carriers to facilitate the proper shipment of KC-46 and KC-135 main and nose tires for deployments. Key requirements for the carriers include:

  • Airworthiness: Must be airworthy on KC-46 and KC-135 aircraft.
  • Dimensions: Must not exceed the dimensions of a 463L pallet (88"x108") and be no higher than 60".
  • Capacity: Each carrier must store 6 main tires and 2 nose tires for KC-46 and KC-135 aircraft, with an approximate stored weight of 1400 lbs.
  • Design: Must open on one side, with a securely latching and locking mechanism. The open side must drop to the floor to act as a ramp for rolling tires.
  • Interior: The interior must feature a 1-foot indenture to prevent tire movement during transport.
  • Durability: Parts must be sturdy enough to handle weight and movement to/from deployed locations. Carriers require high-quality, black, glossy paint and primer capable of sustaining adverse weather conditions and resisting salt water damage.
