Scope of Work
The anticipated work includes:
- Jetty Maintenance: Removal of existing stone from approximately 330 linear feet of jetty, installation of vinyl sheet piles to -14.0 feet MLLW, placement of new bedding and armor stone (VDOT Type I and Class AI), and increasing the jetty elevation to +6.0 feet MLLW.
- Maintenance Dredging: Dredging approximately 25,000 cubic yards of sandy material from the 200-foot-wide channel (Stations 32+50 to 45+90) to a required depth of -10.0 feet MLLW, with an allowable 1-foot overdepth. Dredging can be performed via hydraulic pipeline or mechanical methods. The dredged material will be beneficially reused at two beach placement sites: Narrows Point (
4,000 CY) and Queens Creek (21,000 CY).
