Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify potential sources for Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Training. This one-week, instructor-led course will be held onsite at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in Gaithersburg, MD, to train staff on newly acquired NDT equipment. Responses are due by March 19, 2026.
Scope of Work
NIST requires a one-week, instructor-led NDT training course for staff at the NCNR. The training will be conducted onsite in Gaithersburg, MD, and will include both classroom lessons and hands-on experience with NDT equipment, including a walk-down of reactor systems. The curriculum must cover two days of eddy current testing, two days of ultrasonic testing, and one day of wet particle magnetic testing. The training is intended for basic overall equipment use, not certification, and will focus on equipment such as the EPOCH 650 and NORTEC 600. This training is crucial for the safe and reliable operation of the aging National Bureau of Standards Reactor (NBSR).
