Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify vendors capable of providing Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Training for its Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in Gaithersburg, MD. This training is crucial for the safe and reliable operation of the aging National Bureau of Standards Reactor (NBSR). Responses are due March 19, 2026.
Scope of Work
NIST requires a one-week, instructor-led NDT training course to be held onsite at the NCNR. The training will cover both classroom instruction and hands-on experience with NDT equipment, including a walk-down of reactor systems. The syllabus must include:
- Two (2) days of eddy current testing.
- Two (2) days of ultrasonic testing.
- One (1) day of wet particle magnetic testing. The intent is to provide basic overall training on equipment use, not certification.
