Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is soliciting proposals for the Design and Installation of an Oil Water Separator (OWS) at Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB), Idaho. This project, conducted via a Two-Step Sealed Bidding process, aims to install a gravity-fed, 300 GPM OWS to remove 99% of hydrocarbons from the sanitary waste stream. This opportunity is set aside for Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB). Technical proposals are due May 8, 2026.
Scope of Work
The objective is to design, fabricate, install, and commission a complete and functional OWS system at Hush House No. 2, MHAFB. The system must handle wastewater from aircraft maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with EPA, DoD, and NPDES regulations. The work involves excavation, shoring, foundations, plumbing, site electrical, controls/alarms, and commissioning. Special precautions are required for working on the airfield, including preventing foreign object debris (FOD) and additional personnel screening. The OWS must achieve 99% removal of free and dispersed hydrocarbons larger than 20 microns, with integrated sensors for real-time monitoring.
