Purpose & Scope
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for information and planning purposes only, not a request for quotes or proposals. The Government seeks to identify qualified commercial services for packing, containerization, and local drayage of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel's personal property shipments. The scope includes furnishing all personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, and materials for preparing personal property for shipment, drayage, and/or storage. Key tasks involve premove surveys, weighing, adherence to specific time requirements, and detailed procedures for various items (e.g., firearms, customer-packed items). Containerization of household goods (HHG) and unaccompanied baggage (UB) will primarily occur at the residence.

Contractors must maintain adequate insurance (Workmen's Compensation, Comprehensive General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Cargo Insurance) and have an approved facility. Personnel must be able to communicate in English. Compliance with specific commercial standards (e.g., ASTM, SDDC) for containers and materials is required.
