Scope of Work
This opportunity requires contractors to provide and install all materials for:
- Overflow Basin Construction: Construct an overflow basin for PAO chillers and pumps.
- Mechanical Room Construction: Build a dedicated, sound-attenuated room to house PAO chillers, meeting specific requirements:
- Walls: 6-inch, 16-gauge metal studs with 5/8-inch drywall (both sides), R-21 insulation, full-height.
- Sound Attenuation: Complete room assembly (walls and doors) must achieve an STC rating of 45.
- Doors: Minimum STC 45, with at least one door large enough for chiller passage.
- Finishes: Walls painted to match existing laboratory aesthetic.
- Floor/Ceiling Integration: Modify existing raised access floor and grid ceiling to accommodate new wall placement and chiller skid.
- Chiller Support and Containment: House support and isolation stands with containment pans (unless integrated), accommodate the Pall Filter unit, match raised access floor height, and infill around stands with raised access floor panels.
- Paint/Finish: Repair any paint damage with 1 coat primer and 2 coats paint, matching existing.
- Plumbing: Direct overflow drain line to a separate overflow drain catch. Propose alternate solutions if allocated space is insufficient before contract award.
